Pension case of State Bank of India pending in Supreme Court for a long time, last fixed for 09/01/2013, has again met the same fate like earlier with the next date for hearing now fixed up for 6th February’2013 (Check the date correctly as there is not much of a surprise if it could be some date in 2014). The retirees all over the country were waiting for 9th January’ 2013 impatiently with their vision glued to the Supreme Court of India at New Delhi hoping for some thing tangible to emerge but they got deluded getting slapped with another adjournment. Virtually it looks like the issue going on perennially from one date to another with no kind of a certainty in sight. As quite well known a fact it is that pensioners are quite in the wrong side of their age, many of them in their 80s, there must be some consideration on a priority footing to extend to them whatever relief is possible during their life time only. Any benefit that accrues to them posthumously has actually no meaning for them. The retirees have no option but to wait for the next date patiently undergoing most suspenseful moments.
