Festivities of a priest at whose cost?

Many take him as an Indian version of a pontiff. He is Asaram Bapu, a saint, a priest, a Dharam Guru, a sermoniser, and a magic wand to solve all the problems of his disciples within moments. His disciples consider him as an incarnation of the God Himself. Calling it a religious ritual, he celebrates Holi, most significant a festival, every year a few days before it falls due. It’s an event of rejoicings. This time it has been held at Nagpur with Asaram Bapu in a lead role to bless the gathering as usual in his style of mimicry well dressed like a king. He showered water upon the crowd using special water lifting machines from one corner to the other seeing to it that no section of the gathering was left unblessed. This mode of sprinkling water on the devotees amounts to wastage of lakhs of litres of water, and it is on the face of the fact that Maharashtra as a whole is in the grip of severe drought, the worst of its kind in the last forty years. When this was pointed out to Asaram Bapu, his reply was that the loss was nothing in comparison to his blessings extended to his devotees. How ridiculous? He is already the one involved in several scandals including corruption in acquiring 700 acres of land at Nagpur, and it is not surprising if he has audacity to justify the huge wastage of water hypocritically in the name of so called ‘ashirvad’ to the gathering. There can be no worse an instance of hypocrisy than this.

    neelkanth,
There you have it. While it may be that we need guru to take us from darkness to light? After that we’re on our own. That it is the personal relationship, in our heart the Anahata Chakra, seat of the thymus gland.

The notion that water is anything other than a symbol in religion, is a bit far-fetched. Especially when there is water deprivation. The ostentatious over-use is almost insulting waste. When it could be used more effectively giving water’s healing powers internally. Water and sea salt, sodium and magnesium. Healing many ills. See Dr. Batman ….. Dr. Batmanghelidj. “Your body’s many cries for water”.

Like many other “Holy Men”. The lust for material gain, is unjustifiable. There are many other ways of serving mankind. It just needs true love and devotion. As plenty of people demonstrate.

The new leader of papist church, is a jesuit. Reading the oaths taken by jesuits and the role they have played over the centuries within the catholic church. Is not an encouraging situation for the many abused by that church, either.

Asaram Bapu is one of the first spiritual industrialists in India. He showed this pathway to many to make fortunes for themselves by resorting to attractive gimmicks,He is indeed very good at what he does.

Does he deserve to be called/named as a SAINT in view of his deeds/acts and the face expressions he gives while asking any type of question which he does not like to be asked from him?????
